Sometimes you just have to get on with it!

So, here we are in August already. GCSE and A level results are out this week and the trigger for lots of celebration but also anxious moments for students and their parents; in my opinion, it is much worse for parents as you hope for the best and plan for the worst, an outcome that is totally out of your control and all you can do is stand by and watch.

As a teacher, it is such an exciting time; celebrating the achievements of my outgoing cohort but also getting ready to welcome and support the next group of young people that will enter my classroom, embarking on the next stage of their educational journey. This year is particularly special, as one of my new students will be my niece. We have always been extremely close, and I feel immensely proud and privileged to be a small part in her continuing education and I know that she, along with the rest of my new students, will have an amazing time at college and I will do my utmost to make sure they have a great experience and achieve their true potential.

I have spent many hours procrastinating over the last eight months about how and when I would launch Sixteen and Beyond; so today I have decided that it is time for me to bite the bullet, and just do it! So here we go...
